Check out this website number!

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

From the Washington Post

“We’ve already set up a Web site, Recovery.com, which will show where and how the money is being spent,” the vice president told the leaders of the United States Conference of Mayors during a speech in the East Room of the White House. “The public can actually go on a Web site and see how we’re spending this money.”

But the stimulus site is not Recovery.com — it’s Recovery.gov.

From CBS News asking about recovery.gov:

CBS: By the way, do you know the website?

Biden: You know, I’m embarrassed. Do you know the website number? (looking offstage) I should have it in front of me and I don’t. I’m actually embarrassed.

From Huffington Post, July 29, 2008:

It’s not so much that John McCain needs to personally blog or Twitter as president. In fact, I don’t want the next president blogging or sending text messages from the Oval Office … Instead, McCain’s ignorance of the operations of the Internet today, I believe, says more about the candidate’s intellectual curiosity than it does about his technical prowess.

From Salon:

John McCain, Internet Dunce

From Barack Obama’s campaign:

John McCain can’t send email

Although, at least Biden is consistent:

COURIC: “…you guys haven’t been completely guilt-free making fun of John McCain’s inability to use a computer.”

“I thought that was terrible by the way,” Biden said.

“Why did you do it then?” Couric asked.

“I didn’t know we did it and if I had anything to do with it, we would have never done it,” Biden said. “And I don’t think Barack, you know.”

Sure Joe.  We know.

Barack Obama approval rating: ??%

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Before Barack took office I implemented the Barack Obama approval rating system. He started at 100%, and would be downgraded/upgraded as his job performance was positive or negative (max 10 points per event.)

There just aren’t enough hours in the day to keep up with it–the President has been doing a lot that I’m not too fond of lately (and a couple of things were aiiight.)  I guess what I’m saying is it’s time for a batch update.  As of today, officially he’s still at 99% approval, but I’m going to guess that’s not going to continue (there may be a minus 10 point stimulus bill that still hasn’t been factored in).

So that I don’t miss anything, feel free to post in the comments section anything that Obama has done so far (good or bad) that you think should change his rating.  And if you are keeping your own personal approval rating like some who have emailed, feel free to post that.  And fine, you can post Carrie Underwood photos too, although that’s just a standing invitation.

Lack of fairness doctrine unfair to senators bank account

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Yawn.  Another day, another democratic politician targets talk radio.  This time it’s Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI).

Here is the timeline of events:

–>Washington DC has a liberal talk station

–>Liberal station routinely criticizes conservative talk radio for being in the pocket of the republican party

–>Liberal station changes it’s name to “Obama 1260″ (I kid you not.  Remember when your station changed it’s name to McCain 970?  No?  Weird.)

–>Liberal station fails.  Shocker.

–>After failing in the marketplace–again–liberals try to legally mandate their own success by bringing back the fairness doctrine

–>Debbie Stabenow talks to Bill Press about it:

BILL PRESS: …is it time to bring back the Fairness Doctrine?

SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I think it’s absolutely time to pass a standard. Now, whether it’s called the Fairness Standard, whether it’s called something else — I absolutely think it’s time to be bringing accountability to the airwaves. I mean, our new president has talked rightly about accountability and transparency. You know, that we all have to step up and be responsible. And, I think in this case, there needs to be some accountability and standards put in place.

BILL PRESS: Can we count on you to push for some hearings in the United States Senate this year, to bring these owners in and hold them accountable?

SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I have already had some discussions with colleagues and, you know, I feel like that’s gonna happen. Yep.

Most likely, the fairness doctrine (or ’standard’ as Deb refers to it) has enough negative baggage tied to it, that democrats will be forced to repackage, rename, and reimage until they get it through another way.

But the worst part of Stabenow being the fairness doctrine’s personal spokesperson is that she’s married to Thomas Athans.  Besides purchasing oral sex from prostitutes, Thomas is best known as a liberal radio executive.

What a weird coincidence!  Senator Stabenow is pushing for the return of the fairness doctrine–which coincidentally–would be the only possible way her husbands career wouldn’t end in yet another massive failure.

The truth is that Stabenow apparently hates–despises–free speech when it arrives in a form that hurts her politics or her husbands ability to fund his at least occasional trips to Motel 6(9).

Give her office a call and let her know how you feel (and please use far more respect than I have in this blog):

(202) 224-4822

Deb.  We know you’re legally required to listen to your husbands crap.  We’re not.  Let’s keep it that way.
